Since the reopening of its Kiyomizu Sannenzaka branch in 2022, the Japanese tea café Kumonocha has quickly become a hot topic on social media. Under the concept of “Relaxing tea in Kyoto,” Kumonocha has opened in popular sightseeing spots in Kyoto City, including Arashiyama and Kiyomizu Temple. Their goal is to make authentic Japanese tea more accessible and enjoyable in everyday life.

This new and popular Japanese tea café is collaborating with the long-standing Japanese sweets shop Sasaya Shoen to offer a new café experience. The “Kiwami Honwarabimochi Set,” which consists of freshly made bracken starch jelly from Sasaya Shoen and a drink from Kumonocha, as well as other traditional Japanese sweets such as dorayaki sweet bean paste sandwiches and daifuku rice cakes from Sasaya Shoen are popular.
