Nishiki Gyoza

  • restaurant

Nishiki Gyoza aims to make customers smile with their tasty gyoza.
Their gyoza (Chinese-style dumplings popular in Japan) feature hearty, tightly packed filling. This was born from the personal touch of the chef Ryota Fujioka.
“I made it as a token of my appreciation to cheer up the staff at my own restaurant, and these dumplings with more filling than usual made them smile.”
Fujioka’s experience led him to further pursue gyoza, and he finally opened Nishiki Gyoza. “I want to make customers smile with my gyoza.” Fujioka’s new endeavor to pursue perfection with gyoza begins here in Nishiki Market, Kyoto.

At Nishiki Gyoza, you are free to choose what you want to dip your gyoza in.
Of course, the standard vinegar and soy sauce or vinegar and pepper are an excellent choice.

However, the restaurant also recommends specially made gyoza sauces, which are the fruit of Chef Fujioka’s tireless research on sauces to enhance the taste of gyoza.
“We propose our original gyoza sauces as options. Please give the Kyoto shichimi yuzu citrus sauce or the Kyoto red miso sauce a try.”

Nishiki Gyoza’s signature gyoza is 495 yen (tax included) for 6 pieces.
To further enjoy the taste of these dumplings, they offer two special sauces, “Kyoto Shichimi Sauce” and “Kyoto Aka Miso Sauce.”
Nishiki Chicken Karaage: 660 yen (tax included) for 5 pieces
Marinated in a secret sauce with a hint of ginger, this fried chicken is hearty and yet easy to eat.
