The Touan Nishiki-koji Store is located in Nishiki Market, the "kitchen of Kyoto," affectionately known as "Nishiki" to the people of Kyoto. The store is a place where you can easily find Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki fine ceramic pottery handmade by skilled craftspeople.

You can purchase beautifully handcrafted tableware, including standard and limited edition items. There are also outlet items.

Each vessel is painted by hand by craftspeople using colorful glazes. The lovely rounded "tama-yunomi" tea cup is one of the best sellers that Touan has been making for over 40 years without changing its shape.
This glaze has the property of forming crystals during the process of melting and cooling. The glaze is named "Hana-Kessho" (flower crystal) by Toan because beautiful patterns appear on the surface as if a flower had bloomed.
